Established in 1978, Bahrain Jewellery Centre has been a trusted name for 43 years in the luxury watches and jewellery segment. The company, founded by the late Abdul Razak Shirazi, Abdul Majeed Shirazi and Dr Abual Qassim Shirazi, is today a much sought after, a highly popular company, with the Shirazi family driving its success.
From the onset, the brand has set in motion three core values for their businesses: high quality, exceptional customer service and a passion for excellence. Built on these core values, the company now boasts 18 flagship stores across Bahrain.
Besides the prestigious boutiques, BJC has a dedicated after-sales service and a fully equipped watch workshop with Swiss-trained technicians. The technicians are well-trained with the latest technological innovations in Switzerland, the hub of the watch industry. The company has played an integral part in establishing Jewellery Arabia, the Middle East’s premier jewellery and watches event. The company consistently holds the largest exhibiting space amongst exhibitors every year. The event features more than 600 exhibitors from 30+ nations every year.
1978
The humble beginning
Bahrain Jewellery Centre began as a single small shop and a few numbers of brands in the Kanoo Building at Bab Al Bahrain on Al Tijjar Avenue in 1978. The brands included Patek Philippe, Piaget, Omega and Vacheron Constantin along with a few renowned Jewellers like Maria Gaspari, Stephan Hafner and many more.
1979
The first expansion
By 1979, Bahrain Jewellery Centre opened a new, bigger shop adjacent to the first. The new shop was three times bigger than the first.
1986
Bahrain Jewellery Centre moves to Moda Mall
To address the concerns of accessibility and parking constraints, Bahrain Jewellery Centre moved to the iconic Moda mall in 1986. Bahrain Jewellery Centre continued to add many more world-renowned brands under its umbrella year after year.
1990
The 90’s
Bahrain Jewellery Centre opened Tiffany Boutique in Moda mall in 1990. Just five years later, Bahrain Jewellery Centre opened a Chopard Boutique at The Ritz Carlton, Bahrain. By 1998, BJC opened stores in Al Aali Mall.
1992
Establishing Jewellery Arabia Exhibition
Jewellery Arabia, the Middle East’s premier jewellery and watch event, was greatly inspired by Bahrain Jewellery Centre. The event, hosted by BJC, features more than 600 exhibitors from 30+ nations every year.
2005
More brands under the belt
Bahrain Jewellery Centre continued to expand in Moda mall. In 2005, BJC introduced the Piaget boutique.
2009
Store launch in City Centre Bahrain
Bahrain Jewellery Centre opened Omega and BJC boutique in 2009.
Opening of BJC Baby
In 2009, the BJC Baby Store joined the market exclusively for baby gifts and accessories.
2011
Adding one more feather to the cap
Bahrain Jewellery Centre’s expansion continued with the opening of Chopard Boutique in 2011.
2013
Crossing boundaries
Bahrain Jewellery Centre spread its wings into the Saudi Arabian market with the Omega and Panerai boutiques in Al Rashid Mall, Al Khobar in 2013 and 2014.
2015
Continuing Expansion
In line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) moved operations to its new state-of-the-art facility in Muharraq. The new passenger terminal, four times the size of the previous airport, has marked a new era for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s aviation sector, where BJC has opened four retail outlets for Chopard, Bulgari, Omega, and Hublot, bringing the brands’ latest offerings closer to passengers.
2015
Patek Philippe
Patek Philippe opens its new boutique in Moda Mall partnering with Bahrain Jewellery Centre. Located in the luxury shopping destination of Bahrain, bringing the finest timepieces with over 180 years of brand expertise and philosophy to horological connoisseurs around the world.
2021
Jaeger-LeCoultre Opens a Boutique in Bahrain
Jaeger‑LeCoultre opened its new boutique in Moda Mall partnering with Bahrain Jewellery Centre. Located in the luxury shopping destination of Bahrain, the refined and elegant Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique is encompassed to lure watch lovers inside and the harmonious design of the retail space showcases the identity and creations of the watchmaker.
Vacheron Constantin Opens First Bahrain Boutique
Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest Haute Horlogerie Manufacturer with more than 266 years of uninterrupted history, opened its first boutique in the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Manama. The boutique, located in Moda Mall dignifies the Maison’s elegant Swiss heritage with the warm and timeless Middle East accents. Together the two distinctly align throughout the boutique to welcome connoisseurs and watch lovers.
